The Western Foundation of Vertebrate Zoology, aka locally The Bird Museum, is world renown for the largest curated bird egg collection in the world.  Right in Camarillo, CA.  Although the egg portion of the museum is not generally open to the public, it has an impressive collection of mounted birds that visitors can see.  Tours and classes on birds are available.
